POSITION OVERVIEW
The Assembley Associate is responsible for accurately assembling products according to engineering specifications and work instructions, performing quality checks and functional tests, and ensuring that all finished goods meet the company’s standards before packaging and shipment. In addition to assembly, the role supports inventory tracking, material handling, and continuous improvement initiatives related to production efficiency, quality, and workplace safety.
Success in this role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow standardized processes, a commitment to producing reliable and high-quality products, and the flexibility to work across different workstations or product lines depending on production demands. The Production Associate works closely with team members in production, quality control, engineering, and logistics to support on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
This is a hands-on, detail-oriented position suited to individuals who enjoy problem-solving, working with their hands, and contributing to a mission-driven company focused on vehicle and jobsite safety.
TOP SKILLS & PROFICIENCIES
- Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and small mechanical components.
- Comfort with wiring, connectors, and basic circuit assembly (experience with low-voltage electronics a plus).
- High level of accuracy in assembly, labeling, testing, and documentation to ensure product quality and consistency.
- Ability to handle small components and perform precise assembly tasks.
- Able to interpret assembly instructions, technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Capable of identifying assembly issues, reporting defects, and assisting in basic troubleshooting and rework.
- Ability to meet production deadlines while maintaining product quality.
- Keeps work area clean and components organized; follows inventory procedures.
- Works well in a team-oriented production environment and communicates effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
- Willingness to cross-train in different tasks or workstations and adjust to changing production needs.
- Follows safety guidelines consistently and maintains awareness of hazards
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
- Assemble camera kits including monitors, cameras, wiring harnesses, mounting brackets, and accessories according to work instructions and product specifications.
- Route, crimp, and connect wiring and cable assemblies, ensuring proper connections and cable management.
- Perform functional tests on completed assemblies to verify proper operation of cameras, monitors, and signal transmission.
- Use hand tools, power tools, jigs, and testing equipment to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Troubleshoot and rework products that fail initial testing, documenting issues and reporting patterns to supervisors or engineering.
- Inspect in-process and finished goods for cosmetic defects, missing components, and adherence to quality standards.
- Label and package finished products securely for shipping, including foam wrapping, boxing, and documentation of contents.
- Clean and prepare workstations daily to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient production environment.
- Assist with unpacking, labeling, and restocking incoming components and supplies in designated inventory areas.
- Participate in cycle counts or physical inventory as requested to maintain accurate material tracking.
- Identify and suggest opportunities for process improvement, efficiency gains, or safety enhancements.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE; report unsafe conditions or incidents immediately.
- Support training of new team members or cross-functional colleagues by demonstrating procedures and best practices.
- Communicate effectively with team members, leads, and other departments (e.g., quality control, logistics, engineering).
- Flex between tasks or product lines as needed to meet production schedules or urgent orders.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate Degree or equivalent. Bachelor preferred
- 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing or assembly role preferred
- Experience with electronic or automotive components is a plus
Working Conditions
- Work is primarily performed in a clean, organized light manufacturing environment. Noise levels are moderate and consistent with other production settings.
- Regularly required to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift).
- Frequent walking, bending, reaching, stooping, and use of hands and fingers to handle small components and tools.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. unassisted; occasional lifting of heavier items with team assistance or equipment.
- Standard workweek and Hours: Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm
- Climate-controlled warehouse, but may experience slight temperature variation depending on season and building layout.
