Key Requirements
- Must be able to work rotating shift schedules
- Must be able to commute to Bolton
Responsible for the assembly of machines and related equipment in a manner which ensures high quality standards and on-time delivery commitments to customers.
This is a Temporary/Contract position for 6 months; with 40 hours a week. This role is eligible for overtime.
Salary: 23-32$ hourly.
Key Responsibilities/Areas of Accountability:
- Assemble, fit, and install prefabricated parts, components, and sub‑assemblies to form complete machines, Mechanical , hydraulic and /or Electrical systems, and related equipment, while maintaining established quality and workmanship standards.
- Read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams to determine correct assembly, installation, alignment, and testing procedures.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments to assemble components, verify tolerances, and ensure conformance to engineering specifications.
- Operate material‑handling equipment such as cranes, hoists, and forklifts to safely position, move, align, assemble, dismantle, or relocate machine components and sub‑assemblies or electrical panels.
- Review parts, components, and sub‑assemblies received for quality, accuracy, and compliance with bills of material and engineering requirements.
- Install and integrate mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and /or Electrical systems, including hoses, fittings, valves, pumps, manifolds, cables, and related components, to ensure proper system functionality.
- Conduct in‑process inspections of assembled systems, including air, water, oil, and hydraulic circuits, and /or Electrical circuits to verify correct routing, terminationsconnections, and leak‑free operation.
- Assist with troubleshooting, adjusting, maintaining, and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and /or Electrical systems during assembly, testing, or integration stages
- Adjust machinery and assist in repairing or replacing defective or non‑conforming parts such as valves, motors, bearings, cables ,actuators, cylinders, hoses, and related components.
- Dismantle or prepare machines and assemblies for shipping, splitting, retrofit, or reconfiguration, as required.
- Complete assigned tasks on schedule, meeting defined CTQ (Critical to Quality) requirements, accurately maintaining timecard records, and complying with established production, quality, and safety standards.
- Suggest modifications or improvements to parts, tools, assembly methods, or procedures as part of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Accurately report problems, issues, production delays, quality concerns, and non‑conformances to the appropriate team leader, engineering, or quality personnel.
- Demonstrate and maintain high standards of housekeeping, organization, and cleanliness in the work area.
- Understand and follow all health, safety, environmental, and lockout/tagout procedures, and safely operate tools, equipment, and machinery.
- Work effectively as part of a team with other assembly technicians, engineering, quality, and production personnel to achieve production schedules and quality objectives.
- Undertake additional training as needed and actively support and participate in the training and cross-training of other team members, while representing the company in a professional manner when performing assembly-related work
Qualifications:
Education
High School and/or a post-secondary education in mechanics, hydraulics and/or electrical or certificate in related studies.
Related Experience
4 – 7 years relevant work experience in manufacturing.
