About the role:
To assist with the preparation, cooking, serving or delivering of food in a Powys County Council premise, by efficient use of resources in compliance with the Food Safety Act, compliance to nutritional standards / corporate health as per Welsh Government and all relative procedures, policies and legislation. This may be meals for schools, restaurants, meals on wheels, buffets etc.
Promotion of the Catering Service through promotional events and customer awareness.
About you:
- Numeracy and Literacy skills are essential
- Ability to complete all paperwork accurately
- Driving license and ability to drive a van are desirable
- IT skills with competent use of e-mail
- Ability to comply with all levels of confidentiality
- Ability to demonstrate job tasks to staff
- Oral and written ability in the Welsh language.
- Ability to undertake the physical demands of the position
- Able to respond to peaks in workload, meet deadlines and deliver the required service
What you will do:
- To comply with the Food Safety Act at all times and Powys Catering Services Policies and Procedures including the Hygiene and Hand washing Policy. Ensure good standards of safe working practices at all times
- Assist with stock control, storage, preparation, cooking, delivering and serving of meals on and off site and cash collection is carried out to the requirements of the service
- Assist with ensuring meals are served and are compliant with Welsh Government nutritional and budget guidelines maintaining portion control, including special diets
- Maintain accurate records as required
- Assist with the preparation of menus and costing associated with the catering service
- Assist in the evaluation of staffing levels, staff rotas, on the job training of staff and menu development
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £24,790.00-£25,183.00 per year
Expected hours: 22.5 per week
