About Summit
Summit operates a high-energy restaurant located inside a major sports and entertainment facility, serving large crowds during games, concerts, and special events. We pride ourselves on fast-paced service, strong teamwork, and delivering an exceptional guest experience.
We are seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager to support daily restaurant operations and help lead our team through high-volume service periods and event-driven rushes.
The Role
The Assistant General Manager works alongside the General Manager to oversee restaurant operations before, during, and after events. This role is hands-on and requires a confident leader who can manage staff, maintain service standards, and adapt quickly in a high-pressure environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support all aspects of restaurant operations during regular service and live events
- Supervise, schedule, train, and motivate front- and back-of-house staff
- Assist with event execution, crowd flow, and service timing
- Ensure food safety, liquor service, and facility policies are followed
- Help manage inventory, ordering, labour, and cost controls
- Address guest concerns quickly and professionally
- Step into a leadership role during peak service or in the GM’s absence
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant management or supervisory experience required
- Experience in high-volume, event-based, or fast-paced environments strongly preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to stay calm, organized, and decisive during peak rushes
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and event days
- Valid food safety and liquor service certification (or willingness to obtain)
