Assistant Grower

• Assistant grower in a 12 + acre family owned greenhouse operation
• responsible for proper water/fertilizer applications
• responsible for timely PGR applications/drenches
• responsible for timely biological/pesticide applications
• monitor E.C. and ph of soil during crop cycles
• monitor/control crop quality and provide feedback to relevant co workers for required crop maintenance processes
• monitor greenhouse environment based on particular crops
• maintain crop records as well as spray records

Qualifications

• horticulture diploma or horticultural degree
• knowledge of IPM
• 2+ years experience preferred
• previous greenhouse experience preferred
• self directed individual, organized and micro manager
• able to time manage oneself
• willing to work longer hours in peak season(s)
• communicate well with the Head grower
• communicate well with other departments, keeping them updated on progress/issues
• able to multi task
• able to personally handle pressure/stress
• flexibility during slow season
