Assistant Head Greenkeeper – Ballyneety Golf Club, Co. Limerick
Ballyneety Golf Club, one of Ireland’s premier parkland courses and proud host venue of the 2027 Junior Ryder Cup, is inviting applications for the position of Assistant Head Greenkeeper.
Following significant redevelopment in recent years and the club's recognition as Great Britain & Ireland Golf Course of the Year 2025, we continue to strengthen our award-winning team as we prepare to showcase our course on the international stage.
The Role
Working closely with Head Greenkeeper Dave Bailey and the greenkeeping team, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering world-class playing conditions across our 18-hole championship course. You will be involved in all aspects of course setup and maintenance, including:
- Supervising and motivating the greenkeeping staff in daily operations
- Managing turfgrass maintenance programs across greens, fairways, tees, and bunkers
- Assisting in the implementation of the club’s agronomic and sustainability strategies
- Operating and maintaining modern turf management equipment and irrigation systems
- Deputising for the Head Greenkeeper during periods of absence
The Ideal Candidate
- Minimum of Level 5 Greenkeeping or Turf Management qualification (or equivalent)
- Several years of experience in a similar or supervisory role at a high-quality golf venue
- Strong knowledge of modern turf practices, drainage, and irrigation systems
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- A positive attitude and pride in presentation, detail, and consistency
