Assistant Kennel Manager

Job Description

Smith Farm Boardking Kennels is looking for an experienced Assistant Kennel Manager to join our team. The Kennel Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the kennel, including hiring, training, scheduling, and customer service. Kennel Manager duties will include ensuring that all dogs and cats are healthy and cared for, and that the facility is running smoothly. The ideal candidate will have experience in kennel management, problem solving, excellent communication (oral and written) skills, and the ability to multi-task.

Qualifications
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.

  • At least 1 years of experience in management required.
  • Knowledge of dog handling
  • Knowledge of animal care and basic medical knowledge.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure under the leadership of the Kennel Manager.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with clients and other team members.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Must live within 30 minutes from our location or be willing to move.
  • Must be willing to train team members for their positions and be a team player.
  • Submit to a backgroud check.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the kennel facility, including overseeing staff, scheduling, and ensuring proper care of all animals.
  • Supervise and train staff on animal handling, restraint, and care procedures.
  • Coordinate with veterinary professionals for any medical needs of the animals.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for both animals and staff.
  • Provide excellent customer service and address any client concerns promptly.
  • Perform heavy lifting tasks as needed to assist with animal care and facility maintenance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38 – 40 per week

Shift:

  • 10 hour shift
  • Day shift

Supplemental Pay:

Work Days:

  • Weekends as needed

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

  • Management: 1 year (Required)

Work Location: In person
