About Us
The Catholic Cemeteries of the Archdiocese of Washington, Inc. (CCAW) serves Catholic families in their time of need by providing compassionate, professional cemetery services rooted in faith and dignity. We are currently seeking a dedicated and responsible Assistant Cemetery Manager to help oversee operations at one of our cemetery locations.
Job Summary
The Assistant Cemetery Manager supports the Cemetery Manager in the daily operation and oversight of the cemetery. In the absence of the Cemetery Manager, and under the direction of the Director of CCAW, this position assumes full managerial responsibilities for the assigned location.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily cemetery operations
- Represent the manager in their absence
- Present and sell cemetery goods and services to families
- Direct and coordinate daily funeral activities
- Perform administrative, operational, and supervisory duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred but not required
Experience:
- No prior cemetery experience required
- Sales or operations background a plus
Skills & Requirements:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to work 5 day work week Monday through Friday with rotating Saturday
- Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds unassisted
- Capable of working in outdoor weather conditions year-round
- Able to perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, stooping, and extensive walking
- Proficient with office equipment and software
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
