Role Purpose
The Manager, FCU will be responsible for driving operational governance, process improvements, stakeholder management, and fraud prevention initiatives across lending products. The role will focus on strengthening fraud controls while ensuring operational efficiency, customer experience, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
1. FCU Operations & Governance
- Manage centralized FCU operations for lending products.
- Oversee fraud review, investigation, approvals, and exception management processes.
- Manage escalations and ensure timely resolution of fraud-related cases.
- Conduct periodic reviews of fraud control policies, procedures, and trigger-based monitoring mechanisms.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, risk management frameworks, and organizational policies.
2. MIS, Analytics & Reporting
- Manage FCU MIS and reporting frameworks.
- Prepare and present periodic reports on fraud trends, exceptions, portfolio performance, and operational metrics.
- Develop dashboards for monitoring risk indicators and business performance.
3. Process Improvement & Digital Initiatives
- Drive end-to-end process reviews to improve efficiency and customer experience.
- Lead digitization and automation initiatives across FCU processes.
- Identify process gaps and implement control enhancements.
- Perform cost-benefit analysis of fraud control initiatives and operational processes.
- Benchmark industry practices and recommend improvements to strengthen fraud prevention frameworks.
4. Risk Management & Fraud Prevention
- Monitor fraud trends across secured and unsecured lending portfolios.
- Recommend proactive controls to mitigate fraud risks.
- Conduct portfolio reviews to assess the effectiveness of fraud prevention measures.
- Review and strengthen deviation management frameworks.
- Manage and oversee field verification and other fraud control activities where applicable.
5. Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with Business, Credit, Risk, Operations, Policy, and Technology teams.
- Provide guidance and resolution for stakeholder queries related to fraud control processes.
- Balance fraud risk mitigation with business growth and customer experience objectives.
- Ensure agreed service levels and turnaround times are consistently achieved.
6. People Management & Capability Building
- Conduct regular training and awareness sessions for internal stakeholders.
- Develop team capabilities through structured learning and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Mentor and coach team members to enhance performance and productivity.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, risk awareness, and accountability. Monitor team performance and turnaround time (TAT) adherence.

- Fraud detection and prevention effectiveness.
- Portfolio quality and fraud loss reduction.

- Training and capability-building effectiveness. Compliance with internal policies and governance standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
- MBA or Postgraduate qualification preferred.
- 5-10 years of experience in Fraud Control, Risk Management or Financial Services. Exposure to secured and unsecured lending products, fraud analytics, investigations, and process governance.
