Assistant Manager of Billing Services

  • The Assistant Manager of Billing Services assists the Manager of Billing Services in performing and overseeing the billing and member services operations by efficiently and effectively performing daily and monthly billing tasks to ensure monthly billing statements are processed timely.
  • Assists in identifying member needs, improving, developing, and implementing functions that improve procedures and processes.
  • Assists in communicating with members courteously and efficiently by answering questions and providing accurate information about the cooperative's member service policies and procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Master tasks, procedures, and processes, NISC software, and work to implement new/ updated/improved billing functions.
  • Ensure members are provided high-quality service, over the phone, through electronic communications, and in person, including prompt and accurate processing of all requests and transactions.
  • Assists as an authority for the cycle billing processes regarding member information and account maintenance.
  • Assist with annual and district meeting registration procedures.
  • Ensure high-quality service to members by monitoring performance, reviewing work, resolving issues, and supporting billing staff through onboarding, cross-training, skill assessment, and corrective actions to keep operations smooth and efficient.
  • Help coordinate billing services by supporting weekly meetings, sharing priorities, and assisting with the budget, including planning for projects, training, and travel.
  • Assist in overseeing third-party services and the online member portal while helping manage staff access to confidential information through proper internal controls.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Experience in utility billing, accounts receivable, or financial operations.
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience with strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

REQUIRED:

  • Have or obtain a Notary License.
  • Willingness to travel – required to cover duties at both LMRE (Spencer) and NCE (Attica) offices.

WORK AND SAFETY ENVIRONMENT:

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move objects up to 25 pounds.
  • Adequate vision and hearing to perform job functions safely and effectively.

Pay: $97,388.45 - $120,964.41 per year
