Assistant Manager- Sales New Business

Job Summary: This position supports the organization's objectives and goals related to new business by managing the acquisition and publication of customer information related to new business and all sales-related responses to customers for requested information.
Works with all members of the department to supervise and motivate staff and monitor workflow as needed.
Essential Functions
1. Promote new business development and sales strategy activities.
2. Work closely with Japan Sales Group and internal Production Engineering/ Purchasing Departments to determine pricing strategies. Evaluate internal production cost calculations and understand the breakdown of purchased part costs, equipment costs and tooling costs involved with part development in order to generate quotations for submittal to customer.
3. Develop quotations and quote revisions, present to manager for approval; submit, present to and negotiate with customers.
4. Assist with preparation of sales forecasts for presentation to upper management.
5. Participate actively in New Model Review Meetings. Communicate information internally and to customer.
6. Visit customer on a regular basis to gather and provide information.
7. Assist with management of receipt and execution of POs for prototypes, trial parts and overseas orders. Manage the coordination of special trial orders with customer.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Education: Bachelors degree in business or related field or equivalent level of education and experience in a related field.
Experience: This position requires experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience within Japanese manufacturing organization highly desired.
Skills: This position requires negotiation, presentation, interpersonal and communication skills, proficiency in all Microsoft Windows/Office Suite programs, ability to interact with Japanese associates and customers. English/Japanese bilingual (spoken & written) preferred, but not mandatory.
Working Conditions: The position requires the ability to work in a climate-controlled office as well as a manufacturing plant environment, walk on concrete floors, lift up to 30 pounds, perform repetitive keystrokes on a continual basis, and bend, kneel, twist, and reach.
