Assistant Preschool Teacher
Are you the kind of teacher who gets down on the floor to play, notices when a child needs a little extra support, and jumps in to help without always having to be asked? If so, you may be a great fit for our team!
Bundle of Joy Academy is a small, nurturing early learning center in East Cobb/Marietta, and we are looking for a caring, dependable, and energetic Assistant Preschool Teacher to join our team.
We believe young children learn best when they feel safe, loved, supported, and genuinely connected to the adults caring for them. Our teachers are expected to be present, engaged, and active participants in the classroom—not simply supervise from the sidelines.
As an Assistant Teacher, you will work closely with your Lead Teacher to create a joyful, organized, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment. This is a hands-on position for someone who truly enjoys working with young children and understands that consistency, patience, teamwork, and active supervision are essential in early childhood education.
What You'll Do
- Actively engage with children through play, conversations, learning activities, and daily classroom experiences.
- Support the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities focused on early literacy, math, social-emotional learning, and overall child development.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom.
- Assist with classroom routines, including meals and snacks, toileting and diapering when applicable, rest time, transitions, and outdoor play.
- Use positive guidance and age-appropriate behavior management strategies.
- Maintain active supervision and remain attentive to the children in your care throughout the day.
- Observe children's development, participation, and individual needs and communicate observations with the Lead Teacher and administration.
- Support children with different personalities, abilities, learning styles, and developmental needs.
- Build positive and professional relationships with children, families, and fellow team members.
- Follow all center policies, licensing requirements, and health and safety procedures.
- Participate in required training, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development.
- Be willing to jump in, help your team, and take initiative when you see something that needs to be done.
What We're Looking For
- CDA, TCC, or higher early childhood education credential preferred.
- Previous childcare, preschool, or early childhood classroom experience strongly preferred.
- A genuine love for working with young children.
- Dependable and punctual with consistent attendance.
- Patient, positive, and able to remain calm in a busy classroom environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Comfortable being active throughout the day, including sitting on the floor, bending, lifting, and participating in indoor and outdoor activities.
- Able to take direction, receive feedback, and continue growing as an early childhood educator.
- Willing to take initiative and contribute to the classroom without needing constant direction.
- Comfortable using basic technology and classroom communication or curriculum tools.
- Must be able to complete all required background checks, health and safety training, and state-required professional development.
You May Be a Great Fit If...
You naturally interact with children instead of waiting for them to come to you.
You notice when a classroom needs help and jump in.
You understand that active supervision means being attentive, moving throughout the classroom, and knowing what the children in your care are doing.
You enjoy working as part of a team and understand that every role in the classroom matters.
You are dependable and understand that young children and teaching teams rely on consistency.
You are open to feedback, willing to learn, and interested in growing in the field of early childhood education.
Why Bundle of Joy Academy?
We are a small early learning community that values strong relationships, consistent care, and joyful learning. Our smaller center environment allows our teachers to truly know the children and families they serve.
We are continuing to grow and strengthen our program and are looking for educators who want to grow with us.
If you're looking for a classroom where you can be actively involved, build meaningful relationships with children, and make a difference in their early learning experience, we'd love to hear from you.
Please apply with your resume and tell us a little about why you enjoy working with young children.
