Assistant Store Manager – Toowoomba
Ready to take the next step in retail leadership? We’re looking for an Assistant Store Manager to help lead our Toowoomba store and keep things firing on all cylinders.
At Barbeques Galore, we’re all about helping customers create moments that bring people together. As ASM, you’ll play a key role in driving the day-to-day running of the store, supporting the Store Manager, and leading the team from the front.
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting the Store Manager with daily operations and store performance
- Leading, coaching and motivating the team on the floor
- Delivering great customer experiences through confident product knowledge and service
- Helping manage rosters, stock, visual standards and safety
- Stepping up to run the store when the Store Manager is away
- Previous experience as a Supervisor, Assistant Manager or similar retail leadership role
- A hands-on leader who enjoys being on the floor with the team
- Strong communication skills and the ability to coach and influence others
- A practical, solutions-focused mindset
- Flexibility to work weekends and peak trade periods

Description:
The Assistant Store Manager (ASM) plays a critical leadership role in supporting the Store Manager with the day-to-day operations of the store. The ASM is responsible for driving team capability, delivering excellent customer experiences, achieving sales targets, and maintaining operational standards. As a key leader within the store, the ASM models the Barbeques Galore culture and supports the development of future team leaders.
Skills and Experiences:
- Experience in a retail or customer service leadership role
- Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and managing team performance
- Exposure to store operations and compliance practices
- Understanding of retail KPIs, sales processes, and merchandising
- Familiarity with WHS, stock control, and loss prevention
- Strong communication and people leadership skills
- Ability to coach, motivate, and support a diverse team
- Adaptable and resilient in a dynamic retail environment
- Commercial mindset with attention to detail and accountability
- Passion for customer service and team development
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented
- Organised and able to manage multiple priorities
- Availability to work across a rotating roster including weekends and evenings
