Assistant Superintendent – Structural Steel Day Care Project

Location: Calgary

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Superintendent for a structural steel Day Care construction project in Calgary. The ideal candidate is highly organized, safety-focused, and experienced in coordinating trades and maintaining project schedules in a fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage daily activities of subcontractors and trades
• Assist with maintaining and updating project schedules
• Conduct daily site inspections and ensure quality control standards are met
• Monitor site safety requirements and enforce safety procedures
• Track project budgets, labor, and daily production progress
• Work closely with the Superintendent, Project Manager, and internal crews
• Assist in managing and directing internal carpentry crews
• Maintain accurate site documentation, reports, and deficiency lists
• Ensure work is completed efficiently and according to plans/specifications

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Assistant Superintendent or Site Supervisor in commercial construction
• Experience with structural steel projects preferred
• Strong understanding of scheduling, coordination, and site logistics
• Knowledge of construction safety regulations and daily inspection requirements
• Ability to read drawings and coordinate multiple trades
• Carpentry experience or background considered a strong asset
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Proficient with construction documentation and reporting

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $38.00-$42.00 per hour
