Assoc. Dir., Medical Affairs Oncology (m/f/d)
The primary activities include but are not limited to:
- Disciplinary and leadership of Medical Advisor, Medical Science Liaison and TA Manager Oncology
- Develop and execute Country Medical Affairs Plan for assigned franchise(s)
- Responsibility for life-cycle management budget(s) for assigned products (planning, tracking)
- Ensures that each team member is aware of all SL/KDM in his/her territory
- Budget Planning and Resource Management
- Hires, manages, coaches and develops a group of MSLs/Medical Advisor assigned to his/her therapeutic areas to ensure the highest quality scientific exchange in alignment with the Medical Affairs plan
- Collates field insights that will be shared internally as appropriate
- Provides input into the therapeutic area, Medical strategy led by the local Medical Advisor and TA Manager Oncology
- Ensures that there is adequate and compliant cross-functional collaboration between the team members and internal stakeholders
- Drives external stakeholder management, represents company externally and develops strategic partnerships
- Organizes regular team meetings for relevant trainings, sharing of best practices, reinforcing on compliance matters and discuss therapeutic area strategies
- Develop functional and scientific skills of his/her team members
- Establishes the annual performance objectives for his/her MSLs/Medical Advisors
- Conducts mid-year and year-end reviews of MSL/Medical Advisors performance
- Develops and maintains up-to date scientific knowledge around relevant disease areas, products within those areas and research methodologies
- Ensures that all MSLs/Medical Advisors perform their duties in alignment with company SOPs/Guidelines and local laws and regulations
Education:
- Advanced scientific degree is strongly preferred, such as MD (or equivalent MB.Ch.B.), PharmD, or PhD in a life science, preferably with clinical knowledge of assigned therapeutic area.
Skills Required:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German
- Technical skills in Microsoft office, Basic SAP, affinity to mobile solutions
- Industry experience of 5 years minimum in Medical Affairs and therapeutic area experience are required
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in high performance teams, and in a matrix organization
- Ability to negotiate and influence others
- Excellent team player; must excel at teamwork in cross-functional groups
- Must be able to interact successfully with a variety of individuals at the local level, including Medical Advisors working in different therapeutic areas, commercial teams and contract research organizations (CROs)
Competencies:
- Direct leadership experience, as well as listening and coaching skills, are strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to create a working environment which fosters employee engagement
- Strong ethics and integrity
- Demonstrated ability to translate scientific strategy into country goals and tactical plans

The minimum annual salary for this position is EUR 87.900.- and varies according to the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
