Associate Charge Nurse Manager Or Associate Team Leader - Crisis Assessment And Home Treatment Team

About the Role

Associate Charge Nurse Manager (ACNM) or Associate Team Leader roles are essential in creating partnerships with Māori across all levels including tāngata whaiora, whānau, Māori staff and the Kaitakawaenga team, and supporting our non- Māori staff to work together in reducing inequity


You will support the Charge Nurse Manager (CNM) to lead a multi-disciplinary team (clinical and non-clinical roles) within the Hamilton community that fosters a culture of mutual respect, safe practice and acknowledges contributions from both cultural and clinical perspectives.


About the Team/Service/ Location

CAHT is a community based service providing crisis mental health assessment for tangata whaiora who require an urgent response and are likely to require the support of community or inpatient mental health services.


The service also provides short-term follow-up for new tangata whaiora who have been urgently assessed and require a period of specialist input/intervention; or for existing tangata whaiora of community mental health teams who require acute home based treatment intervention as an alternative to hospital admission.


This role also covers Consult Liaison Psychiatry.


The service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.


About you

  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
  • Experience in upholding Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
  • Support CNM to build a high performing team that upholds the culture, values, mission and vision of the service.
  • Engage and work collaboratively with all stakeholders, particularly tāngata whaiora and whānau.
  • Assist to implement the operating model for the service that addresses how the structures, people, functions, activities, and infrastructure will support the work of the team.
  • Foster a culture of openness and quality improvement, with tāngata whaiora and whānau at the centre.
