Job Responsibilities:
Prepare applications for credit approvals in relation to loan and market risk facilities (e.g. forex and interest rate derivatives) for clients across the Energy, Metals and Agriculture industries in APAC as well as annual borrower rating renewals.
Assess creditworthiness of potential and existing clients, using a variety of tools including financial statements analysis (P & L, Balance Sheet and Cash flow), borrower rating scoring models, financial projection modelling and industry peer benchmarking.
Conduct research on demand-supply and price outlook for commodities in the oil & gas, metals and agriculture space such as oil & gas, iron ore, steel, palm oil, cocoa and coffee.
Portfolio monitoring of client performance via financial covenant testing, information covenants checks, Actual vs Projected financial performance and negative news checks.
To support Senior Transactors:
for loan execution through facility documentation checking
for internal facility setup and loan drawdown process
for business promotion through pitch book and deal origination
Contribute to the development, adaptation and application of policy, procedures and analysis to ensure a relevant, compliant and rigorous approach to the management of any risk which can negatively affect the portfolio.
To comply with relevant MAS regulations and applicable MUFG risk and compliance requirement
Job Requirements:
Degree in accounting, finance, banking and/or commerce
Professional qualifications e.g. ACCA, CPA, CFA would be advantageous
Minimum of four (4) years of experience in corporate banking covering structured trade finance in the area of credit analysis, transaction origination and structuring, and/or relationship management
Strong foundation in the understanding of structured trade finance (e.g. prepayment, pre-export, borrowing base, orphan SPV financing and Just-in-time inventory structures)
Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint
