About the role
Our accounting, advisory and tax experts deliver innovative solutions, tailored to the clients personal or business needs. Our experts work with businesses of all sizes, helping to improve performance and achieve strategic growth.
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Associate Director to lead our growing Outsourced Accounting Services division. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced professional to step into a leadership role that blends high-level client advisory, team leadership, and strategic business development in a fast-evolving service line.
Client Delivery & Advisory
Lead a portfolio of over 200 SME clients across various industries, ensuring exceptional service and strategic insight.
Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, and client group reporting packages.
Provide high-level technical oversight and ensure accuracy in all client deliverables.
Manage compliance obligations (BAS, IAS, Payroll Tax) and have a strong understanding of tax concepts
Manage complex engagements including team delegation, client liaison, WIP, billing, and delivery timelines.
Support Directors, and correspondence with regulatory agencies.
Team Leadership
Lead and inspire a team of 20+ professionals with a hands-on, emotionally intelligent leadership style.
Foster a collaborative culture focused on psychological safety, continuous improvement, and accountability.
Mentor and coach team members to reach their full potential and maintain a high standard of client service.
Oversee resource planning, workflow management, and performance tracking to ensure operational efficiency.
Play an active role in cross-functional collaboration and the professional development of the team.
Strategic & Operational
Support clients with forecasting, KPI development, and alignment to long-term business goals.
Collaborate with Directors on high-level advisory work such as valuations, due diligence, and business transitions.
Identify growth opportunities within the client base and lead internal innovation to enhance service delivery.
Champion the use of technology and process improvements to drive efficiency and results.
Actively engage in networking, business development, and firm-wide strategic planning.
Skills and Experiences:
About you
Accounting qualifications (highly desirable) with 15+ years’ experience in business services, commercial accounting, or outsourced advisory roles.
Proven success in leading high-performing teams and managing senior client relationships.
Strong commercial acumen with a strategic mindset and a passion for delivering impactful client outcomes.
Emotionally intelligent leader with exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Proficient in Xero, MYOB, and other cloud-based financial systems.
A proactive, hands-on approach with a commitment, and passion to mentoring others and driving business growth.
