Associate Director – Global Market Access – Sustainable Access Solutions

Background

With the concept of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) being jeopardized globally, the role of private market financing solutions to fill the coverage gaps is of increasing importance. We see numerous opportunities to partner with private payers, mainly insurers and employers, to develop and capitalize on innovative financing solutions. These solutions encompass various forms of health insurance and employee benefits.

As a global leader in the healthcare industry, we are looking for a director of private payers financing solutions to spearhead the development of these partnerships and drive access to patients worldwide. This is a global role, across all franchises, in the Sustainable Access Solutions Team, part of Global Market Access. The role reports to the Alternative Financing & Coverage Lead.

Roles and Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced high-talent professional to accelerate the development and execution of financing solutions through private payers (insurers & employers) & self-pay solutions. This will require building coalitions with external partners and navigating the organization to execute the strategy with clear and quantified impacts, supporting the global, regional, and local business priorities.

As part of this role, you will be responsible for supporting private payer solutions (employee benefits and insurance) and self-pay solutions (such as remittance or loan). Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating across global, regional, and local teams to enhance existing financing solutions and develop new ones.
  • Ensuring that the solutions align with the priorities of local customers and businesses, as well as the market archetype.
  • Serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in market roll-outs.
  • Creating and updating a playbook outlining best practices and implementation pre-requisites to support the scaling of solutions.
  • Demonstrating the business value and impact of specific financing solutions.
  • Supporting the establishment of mutually beneficial relationships with private payers and the formation of an advisory board to expand coverage of our pipeline assets.
  • Improving both internal and external communication of solutions to facilitate new partnerships.

Position Qualifications

Education

  • University degree
  • Master’s degree

Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and manage multiple projects in a dynamic, cross-functional setting.
  • Proven history of proactive drive and successful results achievement.
  • Capable of offering strategic guidance to senior management.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills, adept at collaborating with diverse stakeholders to foster trust and drive projects from inception to completion.
  • Proficient in analytical thinking and effective communication.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with tenacity to advocate for concepts both within the organization and externally.
  • Skilled at collaborating with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Chinese is a plus.

Experience

  • Market Access or Commercial experience of at least 2 years in a market is a must
  • Consulting experience is a plus
