Roles & Responsibilities

Database Design & Development

• Collaborate on database architecture, normalization, and management.
• Create layouts, scripts, field definitions, calculations, tables, and relationships.
• Develop and implement custom business solutions in FileMaker Pro.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot existing FileMaker solutions.
• Identify and resolve issues to ensure smooth operations.

User Interface & Experience

• Design and develop user-friendly interfaces for data access.
• Ensure a positive and intuitive user experience.

Scripting & Automation

• Write scripts to automate workflows and improve efficiency.
• Use FileMaker scripting language for custom functionalities.

Integration & Data Exchange

• Integrate FileMaker with other systems and applications.
• Facilitate data exchange via APIs, ODBC, JSON, JavaScript.

Training & Support

• Train non-technical staff on using database solutions.
• Provide ongoing support and resolve user queries.

FileMaker Server Administration

• Administer FileMaker Server for hosting and sharing databases.
• Manage users, configure settings, and monitor performance.

Documentation

• Prepare documentation of database structures, scripts, and workflows.
• Create user manuals and training materials.

Other

• Communicate effectively with clients.
• Stay updated and learn new technologies (e.g., Airtable, Workfront).

Desired Skills & Competencies

• Strong communication skills.
• Basic understanding of databases and UI/UX design (preferred).
• Knowledge of JavaScript and JSON scripting (optional).
• Exposure to Airtable, Workfront (preferred).
• Ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly.
