We are looking for an Associate Merchandise Planner to join the team on a hybrid work model out of our office in Mississauga. This is an opportunity to join a growing department by playing a fundamental role in our inventory planning across all categories.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Be a Toolio (merchandise planning software) subject matter expert and leverage it to build and update reporting
- Build and utilize inventory reports to proactively identify potential stock-out issues
- Provide product insights and assortment direction to the Product Development team based on product performance, market trend and consumer behaviour
- Develop and maintain Weekly Reports published to Senior Management
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis based on Sales Performance within categories
- Perform SKU level inventory analysis (sales forecast and inventory accuracy)
- Collaborate with Marketing Team to drive promotions and marketing campaigns
- Liaise with other departments on process improvement, system design, and projects as required
- Take on increased responsibility and ownership within your category as the business grows and you progress in your role
Experience, Education, and Designations
- A relevant post-secondary education
- Mastery of Excel; experience with complex equations, macros, pivot tables/charts, excel power query and VBA
- 1 - 3 years' experience in a merchandise planning role for apparel
- Proficiency in Python, R or other coding language is a plus
- Experience with Tableau, Excel Power Pivot or other BI tools is a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Attributes
- Strong computer skills are required; including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Power Point, Excel and Outlook
- Knowledge of demand, supply, and merchandise planning fundamentals
- Knowledge of the e-commerce and/or retail space
- A natural and analytical problem solver
- You understand the value of being proactive and solution-oriented
- Ability to sort through large sources of information, identify patterns and abnormalities
- Ability to handle a dynamic work environment with competing priorities
- Drive for process improvement & ability to perform root cause analysis
- Ability to work in a fast-paced start-up environment
- Strong time management skills to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to interact and work collaboratively cross-functionally and within different verticals
