About the Role

We are seeking motivated Associates to join our high-impact teams contributing to the delivery of the NSW Innovation Blueprint. These roles work across research, policy development, data analysis, program design, program delivery and reporting to support key outcomes, including faster innovation adoption, scaling of high-growth ventures, improved access to funding and equitable participation in NSW’s innovation economy.

As an Associate, you will contribute to shaping strategic advice, facilitating cross-sector collaboration, analysing data and trends, and coordinating key projects and initiatives that deliver on economic and innovation priorities for NSW.
You will join the Fostering Innovation branch in the Investment NSW group. Our branch is responsible for leading innovation policy, supporting startup and scaleup success, and driving data-informed decision-making across the NSW Government’s economic development agenda.

We're Looking For


  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    Proven experience working with internal and external stakeholders across government, industry or community sectors
  • Communication & Delivery: Strong written communication, including briefings, policy papers or analytical reports, with a commitment to timely project delivery
  • Policy & Program Knowledge: Understanding of policy development processes, innovation strategy, and government programs or initiatives
  • Research & Analysis: Ability to distil insights from complex data or policy environments to support strategic outcomes
  • Secretariat & Governance Support: Experience providing secretariat or coordination support for working groups, committees, or advisory bodies

Salary: Clerk Grade 7/8. Package includes base salary ($113,574 - $125,720) plus superannuation (12%) and leave loading.
