Associate Scientist, Product Development (1 Year Contract)

Major Responsibilities:

  • Conduct formulations and production process development under supervision for new or line-extension product, particularly for Liquid product formulations.

  • Works on formulation and process where starting manufacturing process and formula exist. Assist in new development procedures under supervision

  • Assist bench, scale-up, plant trial, and manufacturing of product and process

  • Manufacturing support and troubleshooting for formulation and process.

  • Assist product and process design, project planning, critical success criteria and manufacturing systems

  • Assist operations lab scale product development equipment (spray dryer, evaporator, UHT, CIP, Dry Blender and Packaging)

  • Supports plant/supply chain on scale-up development projects.

  • Conducts ingredient, packaging and process qualifications and validation studies and issues recommendations

  • Assist manufacturing instructions preparation. Monitor shelf-life studies and provides technical justifications for the shelf-life

  • Assists documentation to support product registration and First Lot to Stock commercialization completed

  • Direct own daily activities to meet project deliverables and priorities

  • Document experiment, results and observation in a timely and accurate manner. Analyze data, formulate conclusion and write report. Able to make sound technical recommendation to cross-functions

  • Compliant to all applicable safety, qualify, and AN policies and procedures

  • Support and perform feasibility and optimization studies through lab or pilot scale studies, particularly in area of Liquid formulations;

  • Designs and conducts advanced independent and multidisciplinary technology transfer and application developments;

  • Provides technical direction to projects, resolves technical challenges related to product, process and technology systems;

  • Applies advanced technology and manufacturing knowledge to projects and manufacturing efficiency;

  • Supports regulatory certificates, methods, and compliance requirements to manufacture for the destination market

  • Daily Planning

  • Execute assigned projects with pre-defined scope and goals.

  • Receives direction and work details of a project to be performed

  • Responsible for experiment and documentation accuracy within assigned time

  • Successfully summarizes data

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science/Chemistry/Life Science or related disciplines

  • Minimum 1 year experience research/product development in nutrition/food industry. Fresh graduates with prior related internship experience are welcomed to apply.

  • Basic knowledge of food and nutrition science and technology principles and applications.

  • Fluency in Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)

  • Troubleshooting and resolve/recommend

  • Must have excellent communications skills with the ability to interface with management at all levels.

  • Strong presentation and communications skills to cross-functional teams and management

  • Demonstrated ability to assess and synthesize scientific data.

  • Some travel may be required.

  • Strong interpersonal and writing skills with attention to details.

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate cross-functionally.

  • Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks and prioritize workload.

  • Kindly note this position is based in Tuas and is a 1 year contract position.
