Role Overview

The Fixed Assets Assistant Manager will be part of the Finance Centre of Excellence and will be responsible for end‑to‑end fixed assets, leases and ARO accounting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong financial governance. The role will own accounting, reporting, reconciliations, and audit coordination related to fixed assets, while partnering with multiple stakeholders to maintain compliance with applicable GAAP and internal policies.

This role will also contribute to process improvement, standardization, and automation initiatives within the fixed assets domain.

Key Responsibilities

Fixed Assets, Leases & ARO Accounting

  • Manage complete lifecycle accounting for fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, impairments, transfers and disposals.
  • Perform Capex and fixed assets accounting ensuring adherence to accounting standards and company policies.
  • Account for leases and Asset Retirement Obligations (ARO) in accordance with applicable GAAP.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed schedules for fixed assets, leases, ARO and related balances.

Reconciliations & Book Hygiene

  • Prepare and review fixed asset related reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of open items.
  • Ensure clearing of open items in General Ledger accounts in SAP to maintain hygiene of the books.
  • Review accrual accounting related to capex and fixed assets to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Reporting & Financial Analysis

  • Prepare monthly MIS for India and international entities with focus on fixed assets and capex.
  • Prepare monthly variance analysis and provide commentary to management.
  • Prepare consolidated schedules and reports and respond to consolidation‑related queries.
  • Support monthly and quarterly financial review processes with fixed asset related inputs.
  • Prepare standard, ad‑hoc reports and KPIs related to fixed assets and capital expenditure.

Audit, Compliance & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary liaison with statutory auditors for fixed assets, leases and ARO matters.
  • Ensure timely closure of statutory audits and related audit reports for assigned entities.
  • Prepare and submit audit data and respond to audit queries in a timely manner.
  • Support internal audits and other external reviews, including tax and regulatory surveys.
  • Coordinate with cross‑functional stakeholders for capex approvals, asset tagging, and reporting requirements.

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Drive process simplification, standardization and automation across fixed assets accounting and reporting.
  • Support implementation and adherence to finance policies, standards and processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Finance Centre of Excellence.

Qualifications & Experience

  • CA / ACCA or other equivalent professional qualification.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in finance, with exposure to fixed assets and capex accounting preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Exceptional proficiency in Advanced Excel.
  • Hands‑on experience with SAP (mandatory).
  • Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles.
  • Working knowledge of leases, ARO, and asset accounting under applicable GAAP.
  • Familiarity with financial analysis and reporting tools.
  • Understanding across finance domains including taxation, treasury and FP&A.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
