Job Summary
Join our dynamic auto body shop team as an Auto Painter Helper/Prepper! Responsibilities
- Assist auto painters with vehicle prep work, including sanding, masking, taping, and surface cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Prepare vehicles by removing parts such as trim, moldings, or glass as needed for painting or repair processes.
- Support the application of paint using airless spray equipment or hand tools, following precise instructions to achieve smooth finishes.
- Help with buffing and polishing painted surfaces to enhance gloss and appearance.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area by properly storing tools, supplies, and vehicle parts.
- Perform light mechanical tasks such as minor repairs or adjustments using hand tools and power tools.
- Follow safety protocols diligently when handling chemicals, paints, and equipment to ensure a safe working environment.
- Support auto body repair tasks including minor dent removal or surface preparation for painting.
- Participate in vehicle detailing to ensure a professional presentation after repairs are completed.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while maintaining high quality standards.
Skills
- Previous dealership experience or background in auto body repair is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with familiarity with hand tools and power tools enhances your effectiveness in this role.
- Knowledge of auto painting techniques such as airless paint spraying and buffing ensures quality results.
- Excellent attention to detail for prepping surfaces and achieving flawless paint finishes.
- Ability to lift heavy parts safely and perform physical tasks involved in vehicle prep work.
- Mechanical experience supports troubleshooting minor issues during prep or repair phases.
