Z2 Motorsports is a growing full-service auto shop dedicated to the repair, restoration, customization, and tuning of classic cars, muscle cars, and performance cars. With mechanical, body/paint, and fabrication shops on-site, Z2 can perform almost all related work in-house.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Z2 is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Autobody Technician & Fabricator to join our team. This position involves the restoration and customization of specialty cars. The ideal candidate will have experience in metal fabrication of all kinds, welding, and panel patching and replacement, with a strong attention to detail, pride in craftsmanship, and a passion for cool cars.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Automotive Panel Repair
- Repair or replace damaged body panels (floors, quarters, etc.) that are bolted or welded in
- Fabricate patches to remediate rust or other defects in body panels
- Fabricate and/or modify body parts to support customizations
- Establish precise and consistent body panel gaps and alignment that often exceed the original quality of the car
Custom Fabrication
- Fabricate custom parts and modify existing components using sheet metal, welding, soldering, and other fabrication techniques.
- Create one-off parts of various sizes from sheet metal, metal plate, and metal tubing
- Fabricate and weld structural automotive components such as frames and suspension parts
- Operate lathe and mill to fabricate small parts of various shapes and usages
General
- Maintain accurate repair documentation and time records
- Follow all safety procedures, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and comply with company and industry standards
- Collaborate with other technicians to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of jobs
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience: Minimum 5 years as an autobody technician and fabricator; experience with classic cars, muscle cars, and performance cars strongly preferred
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training a plus
- Certifications: I-CAR and/or ASE certification or equivalent preferred, but not required
- Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
