Overview

The role is predominately office based with some requirement to attend site during deployment and commissioning phases. A major part of this role includes working with Ignition, a web-based HMI, SCADA and MES software package to present a high standard front end SCADA solution to the client. This role involves a great deal of communication with the client during the implementation of SCADA systems and also after with any queries they may have about the system and any problems they may incur with it.

Key Responsibilities

• Presales and design of all new solutions and installations
• Responding to customer and/or client requests or events as they occur
• Liaising with Junior SCADA / Automation Engineers on implementation of PLC, HMI and SCADA software for new projects.
• Create software design specifications and associated documentation for solutions.
• Use of design software such as InTouch, Ignition, Broadwin and 1CC Flexible.
• Training of clients on the use of application once implemented.
• Maintain consistency of the work throughout all projects.
• Ability to work to deadlines.
• General maintaining of all Files and Licensing for projects.
• Dealing with client IT departments in relation to security.
• General all-round Housekeeping of all SCADA projects.
• Development of standards and specifications in line with customer requirements
• Development of standard libraries and productisation of solutions to ensure efficient future delivery of projects.
• Creation of Work breakdown structures for own and more junior engineers projects.

What We’re Looking For

• In-depth understanding of SCADA system architecture and components.
• Experience with SCADA software platforms, such as Ignition, Siemens WinCC, Wonderware, Ignition or others.
• Experience of cloud solutions such as Azure, AWS etc.
• Understanding of communication protocols commonly used in SCADA systems, such as Modbus, DNP3, OPC, and others.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in SCADA and PLC solutions
• Demonstrable knowledge and experience of Software Development and Solution Design with Schneider PLC products or similar
• Experience of using AI technologies
• Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Database Manager.
• Understanding of PC Anywhere, Remote Desktop, TeamViewer.
• Knowledge of data science and statistics
• Ability to use VB, SQL,
• Knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/IP, and other relevant protocols used in industrial environments.
• Awareness of cybersecurity best practices for SCADA systems.
• Skill in designing and managing alarms within the SCADA system.
