Company: Jerico Technologies Location: Remote / Dublin-based (with site visits required across Ireland and occasional international travel) Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: €40,000 – €50,000 per annum (Depending on experience)

About the Role

Jerico Technologies is a growing automation firm based in Dublin. We are looking for a highly skilled Automation Engineer (PLC & SCADA Commissioning) to join our project delivery team.

This is a client-facing role that combines the flexibility of a remote-working environment with the technical intensity of project delivery. You will serve as the primary technical point of contact for our clients, ensuring that our automation systems are seamlessly integrated and operational. While much of your design and documentation work will be remote, on-site presence will be required for works, including commissioning, troubleshooting, site surveys, and direct client consultation. International travel will be required on an as-needed basis, primarily within Europe for Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and short-term project fulfillment.

Please note: Candidates must be based in Dublin or the immediate surrounding counties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client-Facing Commissioning: Lead the end-to-end commissioning process at client sites (domestic and international), performing I/O checks, loop testing, and logic validation.
  • On-Site Troubleshooting: Provide rapid, hands-on support for complex logic, software, or network communication issues directly at the client’s facility.
  • System Integration: Configure and integrate PLCs, SCADA/HMI platforms, and field instruments into a high-performing automation network.
  • Validation & FAT/SAT: Manage and execute Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) in direct coordination with client engineering teams.
  • Documentation: Maintain meticulous records, including test protocols, commissioning reports, and "as-built" documentation.
  • Consultation: Engage directly with client stakeholders to provide progress updates, offer technical advice, and ensure project requirements are fully met.

What We Are Looking For

  • Language Requirements: Exceptional proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory. As this is a critical client-facing role, you must be able to articulate complex technical requirements clearly, facilitate professional meetings, and represent Jerico Technologies with complete confidence.
  • Work Authorization: Candidates must already possess full legal permission to work in Ireland. Jerico Technologies does not provide visa sponsorship; you must hold a valid, unrestricted work permit or equivalent authorization to work in Ireland.
  • Transportation: Must hold a valid Irish driver’s license and have access to a personal vehicle for site visits. Jerico Technologies will cover all travel expenses for visits outside of the Dublin area.
  • Location: Applicants must be based in Dublin or close-by counties to allow for efficient on-site attendance.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a similar commissioning-focused role within an industrial or process automation environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience with PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley, or Schneider) and SCADA/HMI systems (e.g., WinCC, Wonderware, Ignition).
  • Networking Knowledge: Solid understanding of industrial communication protocols (Profinet, Modbus TCP/IP, OPC-UA, Ethernet/IP).
  • Problem-Solver: You are a proactive engineer who can identify potential issues and resolve them under pressure in a live production environment.
  • Qualifications: Engineering degree or equivalent technical certification.

Why Jerico Technologies?

  • Dynamic Role: A unique mix of remote design work, national project work, and international travel.
  • Culture: We pride ourselves on a professional, agile work environment where individual initiative and technical excellence are recognized and rewarded.

Pay: €40,000.00-€50,000.00 per year

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Dublin, County Dublin
