An automotive detailer cleans, restores, and protects vehicle interiors and exteriors to a "like-new" condition, utilizing specialized tools and chemicals. Key duties include deep cleaning upholstery, polishing paint, and applying protective coatings, often in dealerships or detailing shops. This role requires high attention to detail, physical stamina, and expertise in cleaning techniques.

• Interior Detailing: Vacuum, steam clean, and shampoo carpets and upholstery; clean and condition leather; clean windows, dashboards, and consoles.
• Exterior Detailing: Hand wash, wax, polish, and buff paint to remove scratches or swirl marks; apply paint sealants.
• Specialized Cleaning: Clean engines, remove grease, clean tires/wheels, and apply trim dressings.
• Inspection & Maintenance: Inspect vehicles for damage/defects and report them; maintain a safe and clean workspace.
• Organization: Manage detailing supplies and equipment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Attention to Detail: Intense focus on ensuring the vehicle is pristine.
• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with various car surfaces and the appropriate cleaning agents for each.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to sit, stand, bend, and lift for extended periods.
• Communication: Ability to follow instructions and report findings.
• Experience & Education: High school diploma is typically not required, as training is often provided on the job.

Work Environment

• Detailers often work in dealerships, car washes, or detailing shops.
• The work is hands-on and can be physically demanding.
