Our client, a well-established organization in the aerospace maintenance sector, is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Technician – Avionics to support aircraft maintenance and modification activities.
This role involves the installation, inspection, maintenance, repair, testing, troubleshooting, and fabrication of avionics systems and components in accordance with approved technical data, Transport Canada regulations, and applicable Aircraft Maintenance Organization (AMO) procedures. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining aircraft airworthiness while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Perform aircraft maintenance activities including installation, repair, troubleshooting, testing, and fabrication of avionics systems and components in accordance with approved technical data, manufacturer instructions, and applicable regulations.

Carry out maintenance tasks under the supervision of an appropriately authorized and licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) when required.

Assemble and fabricate components using drawings, task cards, work instructions, and approved technical documentation while ensuring configuration control and traceability.

Complete assigned tasks and perform verification inspections where trained and authorized.

Accurately complete technical records, maintenance documentation, and task cards in accordance with regulatory and organizational requirements.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with safety and human factors standards.

Assist with training and mentoring junior team members when required.

Report defects, hazards, non-conformances, and incidents through the Safety Management System (SMS) in a timely manner.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and highlight documentation discrepancies or safety concerns.

Disassemble, inspect, and assess aircraft parts and components, recommending repairs in accordance with approved maintenance data.

Maintain proper part identification, configuration, and traceability for installed and removed aircraft components.

Support production and maintenance objectives by effectively utilizing resources and proactively addressing risks to quality, schedule, and safety.

Certify maintenance tasks when authorized and within the scope of applicable privileges.

Safely operate ground support equipment such as power carts and lifts in accordance with training and authorization.
Education / Certification
Valid Transport Canada AME “E” License, or eligibility to obtain the license in accordance with Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs).
Experience, Skills & Competencies
Experience with aircraft avionics wiring repair, fabrication, installation, and modification.

Ability to interpret maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, service bulletins, and engineering documentation.

Working knowledge of aircraft maintenance practices and avionics regulatory requirements.

Basic understanding of aircraft systems including hydraulics, flight controls, and major assemblies.

Experience completing technical documentation and working with electronic maintenance record systems.

Strong attention to detail and understanding of safety, compliance, and human factors in aviation maintenance.

Effective communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience working on De Havilland Dash-8 or similar regional aircraft platforms is considered an asset.
