Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and highly experienced professional to lead our Architecture and Design team as the Associate Vice President (AVP) for Workplace Design. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in workplace strategy, office interior design, and architectural design, along with proven leadership abilities. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior professional with a passion for innovative design solutions and a deep understanding of creating efficient, functional, and inspiring workplaces.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategy: Lead and manage the architectural and design function for workplace projects, overseeing all aspects from concept to completion. Provide strategic guidance and direction to a team of architects, designers, and other professionals in delivering world-class workplace environments.
Workplace Design Expertise: Design, plan, and implement cutting-edge workplace solutions that optimize space utilization, productivity, employee well-being, and company culture. Stay ahead of emerging trends in office design and workplace technologies.
Client Engagement and Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact for key clients. Understand their business goals, challenges, and cultural aspirations to deliver design solutions that align with their objectives. Cultivate and maintain long-term client relationships.
Project Management: Oversee the delivery of multiple workplace design projects simultaneously, ensuring they meet quality standards, timelines, and budgets. Collaborate closely with project managers, construction teams, and vendors to ensure smooth execution.
Team Management: Mentor, inspire, and guide a multidisciplinary team of architects and designers. Encourage creativity, foster innovation, and ensure continuous professional development within the team.
Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with internal teams (HR, Facilities, IT, etc.) to ensure that design solutions align with organizational goals and improve workplace efficiency, collaboration, and employee experience.
Sustainability and Innovation: Advocate for sustainable design practices, green building certifications, and integration of advanced technologies in workspace planning. Lead the team in developing innovative and environmentally conscious design solutions.
Budget and Resource Management: Ensure that all design projects are delivered within the allocated budget, optimizing resource utilization and managing costs without compromising on quality or design excellence.
Qualifications
Strong understanding of architectural principles, space planning, ergonomics, and human-centered design.
Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, Adobe Suite, etc.).
In-depth knowledge of building codes, regulations, and sustainability standards.
Experience with project budgeting, scheduling, and vendor management.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Creative, innovative, and solutions-oriented mindset.
Expertise in designing and managing workplace environments (corporate offices, co-working spaces, and other commercial environments).
