Cleveland Clinic London are looking for Mammographers to join our Bank Team within the Imaging Department at Cleveland Clinic London with a competitive pay rate. As a Bank Mammographer you will work as part of a team and under the overall guidance of the Radiology Manager to ensure the highest standard of service to patients, consultants and visitors.

What will your duties include?
- Monitors, evaluates and reports status of the departmental operations.
- Provides direct patient care in specialty areas.
- Undertake relevant training and competency assessments, strictly adhering to agreed protocols and procedures.
- To supply medicines using Patient Group Directions, without compromising patient safety. This involves ascertaining the patient’s suitability for drugs and taking joint responsibility for the potential complications under the indirect supervision of radiologists.
- Undertake basic patient observations, recognise a deteriorating patient, and manage immediately and appropriately.
- Use good radiographic techniques and modify as clinically appropriate.
- Have the technical ability to manipulate a range of equipment, whilst maintaining patient comfort and adequately communicate with patients and colleagues to ensure the safe movement of patients into imaging position.
- Use appropriate touch techniques to locate external bony landmarks.
- Perform all X-ray examination as required and within the scope of Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations (IR(ME)R).
- Utilise and understand the Picture Archiving and Communication system (PACS) and Computed Radiography (CR) and Digital Radiography (DR) systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
Mammography Roles and Responsibilities
- Assess the clinical justification of referrals and act as a point of advice for imaging referrers and for patient enquiries regarding their referral.
- Acquire diagnostic images and physically position the full range of patient presentations.
- Assist and participate in interventional breast procedures such as ultrasound, stereotactic and vacuum assisted biopsies.
- Operate advanced software on specialised mammography equipment.
- Review images and in liaison with Consultant Radiologists ensure that supplementary imaging procedures are considered.
- Work as part of a team to ensure effective communication and delivery of care.
- Adapt and quickly respond to changes in service, patients or departmental need.
- Trouble-shoot equipment faults and make suitable provision for the service in the event of equipment failure.
What we need from you?
- Minimally a BSc (Hons) Radiography, DCR(D) Diploma of the College of Radiographers or equivalent required.
- Current valid Healthcare Professional Council (HCPC) registration required.
- Relevant post Graduate experience with a post DCR in Mammography ascertain in the UK from a HCPC recognised institute required.
- Highly developed specialist Diagnostic Radiology and Mammography knowledge, underpinned by theory and experience.
- Understanding of radiographic equipment in the context of how images are produced for both ionising and non-ionising radiation imaging methods and how images are appropriately shared and/or stored.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work autonomously.
- High degree of dexterity to produce materials on a computer.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required, e.g. for imaging Caregivers working with radiation or high magnetic fields.
