Mō te Tūranga – About the role
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Bank Manager is accountable for the development, leadership, and performance of our Whitianga and Thames branches. Responsible for forging and nurturing key relationships both internally and externally to ensure our ongoing business and customer success.
This role is focussed on enriching the Westpac brand and will contribute to our commitment and transforming on how we connect with our customers and the spaces, technology and capability required to deliver a great experience for customers, staff, business partners, stakeholders, and the local community.
You will be responsible for inspiring and leading a diverse team of Banking Specialists, Personal Managers and Customer Service Representatives, to meet every customer's needs across personal banking, business banking and wealth management.

Most importantly, you will know and care about your customers and they will believe in you and your team, recognising Westpac as local heroes. In addition to this you will have:
  • Proven recent experience as both a successful bank manager, leader and lender
  • Highly developed interpersonal, networking and communication skills
  • Expert knowledge of the financial services industry
  • Deep understanding and experience in Consumer lending
  • Understanding of foundational Business lending (preferred)
  • FA qualification desired
  • Demonstrated experience in leading change
  • Commitment to and demonstrated coaching ability
  • A solid understanding of the local area (desired)
  • A business tertiary qualification (preferred)
