We are currently looking to hire a Bar Manager to oversee the operations of our club house and bar facilities. This role is crucial to ensuring that our members and guests continue to enjoy a welcoming and well managed environment.

A key focus of the job will be on revenue generation and margin growth in the members bar and function room. There are significant opportunities to optimise around functions.

  • The Business Development and the delivery of all activities at St. Peregrines GAA Club
  • Responsible for the Sales of the bar
  • Work closely together with the PRO (Public Relations Officer) of the club to grow revenue by active marketing of current facilities
  • Identify and increase activities in the Bar
  • Growing party and function offerings
  • Identify and develop other revenue opportunities
  • Managing all bookings through phone, email and in person
  • Achieve the sales targets on a monthly basis
  • Responsible for the operational management of all aspects of the building on Blakestown Road (part time staff, augmented for functions) to include:
  • Management of bar and its staff (full/part time workers, wages, holidays etc)
  • Cleaning, Stock ordering and deliveries
  • Manage within the monthly cost budgets
  • Responsible for achieving monthly Revenue, Costs and profit targets.
  • Responsible for coordinating the smooth running of the premises by maintaining the standards and ensuring all staff follow guidelines and procedures.
  • A natural leader, who will ensure the team is always well trained and briefed to meet the standards expected.
  • Takes overall responsibility for guest and staff satisfaction, by managing the Lounge & Function Bar operations.

The Candidate will have experience of business development and working in a customer facing activity such as a bar, restaurant or visitors event activity.

The position may suit:

An ambitious assistant bar / restaurant manager with excellent customer facing skills who is keen to gain further experience in a location with significant potential.

Requirements for the role:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role. Function experience an advantage.
  • A team player and be fully involved in every aspect of service.
  • Ability to develop and guide others in professional growth and performance.
  • Ability to deliver high standards and consistency at all times.
  • A passionate leader by example

Hours are 40 hours per week, typically to include nights/weekends.

Daytime deliveries can be arranged to suit a person but evening / weekend presence for events is important.

Given the voluntary ethos of St. Peregrines GAA Club, the level of voluntary support to the person will be significantly greater than a normal commercial organisation

Summary of key functions:

  • Provide an approachable welcoming atmosphere within the bar and between staff and customers
  • Oversee stock and quality control
  • Ability to manage busy weekend Function events
  • Must display leadership in service bringing energy, creativity, consistency, and a great work ethic to the bar.
  • Organised, flexible and proactive to achieve and improve standards
  • Good problem-solving skills.

Remuneration: Fixed salary
