Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our café team. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional customer service, prepare high-quality coffee, beverages and light food, and maintain a clean and welcoming environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in food service, retail math, and POS systems within a vibrant café setting. Prior experience in coffee or food industry environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided to ensure your success.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other drinks using proper techniques
• Operate POS systems such as Light Speed for order processing and cash handling
• Manage customer orders efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service standards
• Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering responsibilities
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas in compliance with food safety standards
• Assist with food preparation and food safety protocols as needed
• Restock supplies and ensure the café is organized and inviting
• Engage with customers to create a positive experience, promoting sales of products and specials
• Follow health regulations related to food handling and serving

Experience

• Previous barista experience or background in the food industry is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided
• Familiarity with POS systems
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse customers
• Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and managing sales transactions
• Excellent time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently
• Knowledge of food safety standards, food preparation, and serving protocols is advantageous
