This is a nice opportunity to join the chill vibe here as a Barista as LA's hot new coffee shop 20G is taking over the location in the Trumbull and Porter Boutique Hotel in the coolest part of downtown Detroit, the Corktown District.

We offer a nice base to go with the great tips to help make the new location amazing, where you will be the friendly face and expert in crafting exceptional coffee and food experiences for our guests. This energetic role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your passion for coffee, deliver outstanding customer service, and create a welcoming environment. As a vital part of our team, you will be responsible for preparing beverages, managing transactions, and ensuring food safety standards are met—all while maintaining a lively and laid back atmosphere that fits right in with the hotel and restaurant here. This position is perfect for individuals who love engaging with people. For that we will not tolerate guests being rude, that for sure is not the vibe here.

The greatness we will pay you for:

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks with precision and flair.
• Show off your fun personality to mesh well with the hotel and restaurant by providing exceptional service.
• Operate a simple POS system. Really, it is simple.
• Manage cash handling, cashiering duties, and basic retail math to ensure smooth transactions.
• Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in food preparation areas, adhering to food handling regulations and not let the place look gross.
• Assist with food preparation and serving of light snacks or food items to enhance the guest experience, and hopefully the tips too.
• Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure quick service without compromising quality or safety. I didn't write that one, but it sounds right.

What makes you be so awesome:

• Experience as a barista and enjoyment out of making the drinks special.
• Excellent guest service skills and personality to be able to help the vast amount of different guests we have.
• Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours and not have to say "Ope, should have prepped for that".
• Knowledge of food safety practices, food handling procedures, and basic math for retail transactions.
• Taking the job itself seriously, but not to the point it drives us all crazy.
