As part of our continued project to improve the coffee service at JOE & THE JUICE, we are hiring 2 experienced barista. They will focus on improving the overall coffee service through behind-the-counter training, quality control and equipment maintenance in their store. With a career development path to head of coffee for the market.

The Barista will work closely with Global Coffee Department and our local Coffee Roastery, to determine, and improve selected ‘focus stores’. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone looking to improve their coffee skills, knowledge and progress their career. Plenty of incentives will be available for the selected candidate, including specialty coffee qualifications and advanced training.

What you’ll do:

As the barista trainer at Joe & the Juice, your role will be to up skill and improve the day-to-day coffee service in your store.

The Barista Trainer should demonstrate solid communication skills, excellent planning and execution skills, great business performance capabilities, and always have employee development as a vocal focus point in alignment with our operational expectations.

You will be start your training in Antwerp, and eventually moving to Brussels to prepare for the store opening. While you receive training you're there to help identify and troubleshoot coffee-related issues through behind-the-counter training and observations. This will be achieved with staff training, coffee station re-organisation, equipment troubleshooting, and generally uplifting and improving the ‘coffee culture’ in our store(s).

What you’ve got:

  • A passion for specialty coffee and the ability to demonstrate a high level of practical coffee-making skills.
  • Good social skills and ability to train and upskill other team members.
  • An understanding of coffee equipment troubleshooting. And ability to determine issues with equipment and be able to troubleshoot where necessary.
  • Willing and able to travel to different stores across Belgium and work with different teams.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent contract

Pay: From €15,31 per hour

Expected hours: 38 per week
