Location: Wilfrid Laurier University Waterloo Campus (Inside University Library Building, 75 University Ave W, Waterloo, ON N2L 3B4)

Job description:
We are seeking a passionate, proactive, and customer-oriented Supervisor to join our team. Operating hours are Mon-Thu: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, with shift hours running from 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Fri: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with shift hours running from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM, (Minimum 3 hours - Maximum 9 hours shift). As a Barista, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers while preparing and serving high-quality beverages. Your ability to multitask and manage time effectively will ensure that each customer receives prompt and friendly service. Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other menu items according to established recipes and standards.
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly, taking orders accurately, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
• Handle cash transactions efficiently using the POS system, ensuring accurate cash handling and cashiering practices.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including food preparation stations and equipment.
• Assist with food handling and preparation as needed, adhering to food safety guidelines.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
• Manage time effectively to meet customer demands while maintaining quality standards.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in food service or as a barista is preferred but not required.
• Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills for cash handling and processing transactions accurately.
• Knowledge of food handling practices and commitment to maintaining cleanliness in the workplace.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.
• Familiarity with POS systems is an advantage but training will be provided.
• Ability to work flexible hours.
