Job Summary

The Bartender / Restaurant Supervisor is responsible for providing excellent food and beverage service while supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the restaurant and bar. This position combines bartending responsibilities with supervisory duties, including overseeing staff, maintaining service standards, handling customer concerns, and ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes and customer requests.
  • Provide friendly, professional, and efficient customer service.
  • Supervise restaurant and bar staff during assigned shifts and ensure duties are completed properly.
  • Assign tasks and coordinate staff to maintain efficient service during busy periods.
  • Train and support new employees on service standards, workplace procedures, and responsible alcohol service.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and professionally resolve customer questions, concerns, and complaints.
  • Process customer payments and operate POS and cash-handling systems accurately.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash reconciliation and securing the restaurant/bar.
  • Monitor liquor, beverage, and restaurant supplies and report or replenish inventory as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, dining area, service stations, and related work areas.
  • Ensure staff follow food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and responsible alcohol service requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, servers, bartenders, and management to ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide guidance when necessary.
  • Assist management with scheduling, inventory control, and other operational duties as required.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous bartending, restaurant, or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Supervisory or team-lead experience is an asset.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, spirits, and responsible alcohol service.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Comfortable handling cash and using POS systems.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as required.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical duties associated with restaurant and bar service.
