ABOUT THE ROLE:Bed Allocation Support is a member of the Patient Flow Team and is a corporate resource. Using guiding principles and bed management protocols the Bed Allocation assign beds to patients across the organization in a timely and efficient manner, keeping in mind the principle of patient focused care. Bed Allocation provides ADT functions and maintains the corporate bed board for the organization providing a central resource for internal and external customers. The Bed Allocation Support works with the support of and in collaboration with all care providers, Physicians, Chiefs of Service, Resources Nurse, Clinical Resource Reviewers, Discharge Planners, Utilization Resources, Patients and families, Department Manager, Health Records and Preferred Accommodation Representatives

WHAT YOU BRING:
- Grade 12 diploma
- Recent experience (within the last 6 months) of utilizing meditech software
- 2 - 3 years previous hospital experience in a clerical role preferred
- Admitting experience preferred
- Medical terminology
- Windows and Microsoft Suite applications
- Proven proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrates excellence in problem solving, critical thinking skills
- Demonstrates analytical skills in relation to knowledge of hospital operations
- Effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to organize and prioritize as required.
- Demonstrated ability to see patterns, logistics and to multi task
- Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated problem assessment skills
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork
- Demonstrated individual leadership skills
