Queensbury United Methodist Kidz a licensed Before and After School Child Care Program for grades kindergarten through 5th in the Queensbury School District. We provide a safe, fun, and developmentally appropriate environment for children and are looking for an energetic person willing to fill the position of a Group Teacher in both our morning and afternoon sessions.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervises the children through all activities in the classroom and outdoors on the playground. Work with other staff to develop age-appropriate crafts and activities.
• Implements curriculum within the established guidelines.
• Designs and implements daily lesson/activity plans.
• Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child.
• Maintains positive relationships and effective communication with parents.
• Maintains program room and equipment.
• Maintains required program records.
• Attends and participates in program activities, staff meetings, and required trainings as per

New York State OCFS School Aged Child Care Regulations.

• Abides by all licensing regulations.
• All other duties assigned by the School Aged Childcare Director.
• Qualifications:
• Meets educational and experience qualifications established by the New York Office of Child and Family Services.
• At least 18 years of age.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
• Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting is preferred.
• Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
• Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $15-$17 per hour
Schedule: 7am - 9:30am AND 2:30pm-5:30pm (Queensbury School Calendar)

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• CPR Certification (Required)
• Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Schedule:

• After school
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
