We're seeking an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our growing Bendigo team on a part-time basis, with the opportunity to increase to full-time in the future.This role is based in the Bendigo region but may include travel to Stawell, St Arnaud, Swan Hill and Ararat as needed.
Description:
As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you’ll report to the Regional Clinical Manager for our Bendigo region. You'll play a crucial role in conducting assessments, writing behavioural support plans and programmes, assisting with the implementation of plans and supervision of other practitioners. The work is based on the principles of Multi-Element Behaviour Support (MEBS) and Positive Behaviour Support for children and adults in the home, community, and school/workplace settings.
What you'll do
Make positive and distinct changes to the lives of others by developing and maintaining relationships
Provide direct behavioural interventions in individual and group sessions
Develop Functional Behavioural Assessments and Behaviour Analysis Support Plans
Provide support and training to colleagues, caregivers support workers on clinical techniques
Partner with varying professionals including doctors, psychiatrists, speech therapists, and occupational therapists to develop and implement individualised client goals and checklists
Adhere to legislative requirements regarding timely and accurate report writing and documentation
Complete introductory IABA training in Non-Linear Multi-element Positive Behaviour Support
Skills and Experiences:
What you’ll bring
A bachelor's degree and/or post graduate qualifications related to Positive Behaviour Support
Hold or can obtain a NDIS Practitioner ID, NDIS Workers Screening Check and Working with Children Check
Proven experience as either a Behaviour Support Practitioner, Behaviour Analyst or Behaviour Therapist
Ability to prepare and finalise technical reports in a timely manner, using high-level verbal and written communication skills
Effective time management skills, managing multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Hold a valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle
Willingness to make a significant difference in the lives of the people and families we support
