Job Title: Behaviour Team Manager

Location: Across all ASD Sites

Responsible To: Regional Manager, HR & Director

Responsible For: Behavioural Team & Children attending centres

Requirement: Masters in ABA and minimum one year experience

MAIN JOB PURPOSE

This is a stand-alone role of full responsibility and accountability for the management and operation of the Behavioural Team. It requires a person to be compassionate, experience and results driven. The Behavioural Team Manager will lead and support a team of Behavioural Therapists and staff in a preschool setting that is dedicated to supporting autistic children. You will play a key leadership role in developing and implementing intervention plans, programmes, IEP’s and fostering team collaboration that will ensure high standards of care and education to children of preschool age. This role may also require the Behavioural Team Manager to liaise with the local Childcare Committee Tusla-The Child & Family Agency and other relevant organisations.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Supervision

▪ To lead, mentor and supervise a behavioral support team and staff

▪ Conduct weekly meetings, regular training sessions and performance evaluations

▪ Foster a positive, inclusive and collaborative team environment

Behavioural Program Oversight

▪ Oversee the development , implementation and monitoring of IEPS, day-to-day programmes, behaviour support programmes

▪ Collaborate with other clinical professionals if needed

▪ Ensure that all programmes are developmentally appropriate for each individual child

Family & Child Support

▪ Work with teachers, behaviour support team and families to support the children’s developmental and behavioural progress

▪ Participate in IEP’s, assessments and care planning

▪ Provide crisis intervention and support when needed

Compliance and Documentation

▪ Ensure all behavioural interventions are accurately documented and in compliance with ethical and organisational standards

▪ Monitor and ensure adherence to safety, privacy, and regulatory protocols

Continuous Improvement

▪ Use data-driven analysis to evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations based on these

▪ Stay up to date with best practices in autism interventions and early childhood behavioural interventions and programmes

Practice

§ To work with the staff in developing the curriculum for each room within the service ensuring that the activities and programmes are developmentally and behviourally appropriate

§ To ensure the curriculum is age and stage appropriate and promotes the children’s’ development within the in-door and outdoor environment.

§ To ensure that all practice is child-centred and responsive to the individual needs of children

To have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of equality issues and different customs, cultures and family structures and to ensure that equality and diversity is recognised and celebrated through the curriculum

§ To ensure regular developmental observations are carried out by the staff team on all of the children and recorded appropriately.

§ To ensure that developmental programmes for each child are implemented based on the observations in each of the rooms

§ To conduct and advise on child development evaluations/assessments as may be required.

§ To develop quality improvement strategies within the service to enhance the quality of experiences for all children and staff.

To ensure that all elements of the work are delivered within the remit of the Child Care Act 1991 [Early Years Services] Regulations 2016, and the National Standards for Preschool Services and any other legal or best practice standards.

Child Protection

§ To ensure that all staff understand their roles and responsibilities in relation to child protection concerns in the service and that they act appropriately if they have a child protection concern and understand the child protection policy and procedure.

Working in Partnership with Parents

§ To build relationships with parents and ensure all staff engage and communicate with parents.

§ To ensure an effective communication system with parents/guardians is maintained.

§ To ensure regular parent/carer IEP meetings are held

§ To organise and manage parent and information/training evenings/events.

§ To ensure that parent/carer meetings and ‘moving room/transition’ meetings take place at regular intervals.

Team Management

§ To develop and maintain a ‘Best Practice’ culture as outlined in by the school ethos

§ To act as a positive role model and provide leadership to the staff in relation to all elements of practice so that they can effectively fulfil their roles within the service.

§ To ensure that staff have the right attitude and are motivated in their work in conjunction with management

§ To ensure that quality standards are maintained in relation to the professionalism of staff as set out in the standards established.

§ To identify staff training needs and sourcing of training opportunities.

§ To arrange regular staff meetings, providing an agenda, recording meeting notes and circulate same for staff on with staff and hold on file.

§ To work in harmony as part of a full team and liaise with staff in the delivery of all services within the service

Meeting and Reporting Responsibilities

§ To attend and present progress reports for weekly Behavioural Team meetings and monthly Managers Meeting

§ To ensure accurate records of meetings with the Staff are kept and to ensure staff follow through on same

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term
Contract length: 8 months

Pay: €45,000.00-€50,000.00 per year
