About the role and team
As the Bid and Operations Manager, you will play a key role driving customer acquisition and aligning global initiatives to support our growth across North America. You will be responsible for end to end bids and proposals, from compliance to pricing, in addition to lead process improvements.
You’ll report to our Managing Director for North America, and collaborate with our Regional Directors, Pre-Sales and Customer Success teams to deliver impactful proposals (RFx’s) and foster strong partnerships in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Proposal Development Leadership: Oversee the creation of compelling, client-focused proposals, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and customer needs that resonate and demonstrate the value of Optibus.
- Opportunity Qualification: Support Sales in assessing and qualifying new leads using Optibus’ strategic approach, ensuring that we focus on high-impact prospects.
- Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution: Address challenges and obstacles in the proposal and project processes, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption.
- Client-Focused Collaboration: Partner with Sales to shape account strategies, identify growth opportunities, and provide trusted guidance, strengthening relationships with both new and existing clients.
- Innovative Project Design: Develop creative and competitive project ideas that refine the sales process, address market trends, client demands, and business objectives.
- Performance Metrics: Tracking and analyzing the performance of proposals, projects, and deal flow providing actionable insights to enhance effectiveness and close rates.
- Content Coordination: Work closely with Marketing to keep materials updated as our product evolves, so all content reflects the latest features and benefits.
- Interdepartmental Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between sales, marketing, operations, and finance to streamline communication and ensure seamless execution of initiatives.
- Salesforce Management: Update Salesforce opportunities related to new opportunities, streamlining the sales cycle and supporting data-driven insights.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed on industry trends, competitor strategies, and market conditions to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation.
Requirements
- You bring 3+ years of experience creating compelling, solution-driven proposals, ideally within public transportation.
- You bring 3+ years in sales support roles, you’ve excelled at closing deals, managing pipelines, and driving new business opportunities.
- You thrive in dynamic environments, skilfully managing multiple proposals, projects and deadlines while delivering high-quality work with impeccable attention to detail.
- Your ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, persuasive narratives—both written and verbal—sets you apart.
- You understand the nuances of public sector procurement processes and compliance requirements, enabling you to navigate them with confidence.
- You are highly organized, adept at preparing detailed reports and tracking progress to ensure seamless project execution and accountability.
- You’re a natural problem solver, leveraging market insights and client feedback to craft innovative solutions that stand out in competitive environments.
- You’re skilled at working across departments, seamlessly integrating insights from technical, operational, and financial teams into cohesive and competitive proposals.
- Familiarity with SaaS platforms is a strong advantage, equipping you to articulate the unique value of Optibus’ technology to prospective clients.
