The Behavioral Intervention Implementation Associate (BII) plays a significant role in supporting students with disabilities by providing individualized behavioral and instructional support within an inclusive classroom environment. This team member supports in fostering students’ independence, social-emotional growth, and academic success through positive behavior intervention techniques and a collaborative approach with teachers, specialists, and families.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting instruction for individual students or small groups with special needs as assigned
Assist students in prescribed learning activities
Monitor student behavior and apply approved behavior management techniques to redirect and modify challenging behaviors
Deliver one-on-one Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)-based interventions as outlined in student plans
Implement therapy plans developed by Behavior Intervention and Education Specialists
Observe, record, and report behavioral data in accordance with established procedures
Maintain confidentiality and positive, professional relationships with students, staff, and families
Perform related duties as assigned to support the success of all students
Monitoring student behavior and utilizing approved behavior management techniques to redirect and modify inappropriate behaviors
Administering one-on-one ABA-based Intensive Behavior Intervention methods to designated students in a school setting (as necessary)
Implementing documented therapy plans for Behavior Intervention treatment.
Assist teachers during the school day with instruction, oversight, and supervision of students
Provide adaptive support with eating and toileting
Performing additional related tasks as needed.
Required
Associate’s degree or completion of two years of college coursework (minimum of 48 semester units)
One year experience or volunteer experience working students with disabilities, including students with autism
Training and experience implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and other behavior intervention techniques
Preferred
Experience in school-based settings supporting diverse learners
BII or RBT certification (Registered Behavior Technician)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Maturity, humility, strong work ethic, sense of humor, and can-do attitude.
Compensation is aligned to the CWC LA Support Staff Rate Table and is based on relevant professional experience.
