Development Professionals, Inc. (DPI) is seeking professionals to serve as a Bilingual Support Services Assistant in the Army Community Service (ACS) in USAG-Italy Vicenza. The positions are part time job (approximately 36 hours per week) and will involve providing bilingual assistance at ACS locations to support linguistic needs related to local integration, relocation services, and administrative tasks. Fluency in both English and Italian will be required for this position.
Operations shall be conducted Monday through Wednesday and Friday, 0800–1700 and Thursday 1300 to 1700, excluding U.S. federal holidays or days ACS is closed entirely.
The Bilingual Support Service Assistants shall be responsible for:
Customer Service and Administrative Support
- Provide bilingual assistance to ACS customers, ensuring clear communication in both English and Italian.
- Greet customers, explaining ACS services, and assisting with filling out of relevant documentation.
- Maintain data tracking and reporting through Client Tracking System (CTS), providing monthly statistics to the Program Manager no later than the 2nd day of the following month.
Translation and Linguistics Support
- Provide non-legal, non-medical translations for service members, families, and civilian personnel.
- Assist with Soggiorno Permit extension requests, interpreting utility bills, rental agreements, and related matters.
- Support ACS-hosted community integration workshops by translating key materials as needed.
Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain daily customer sign-in sheets, ensuring accurate records of bilingual support services rendered.
- Scan and submit final two weeks of sign-in sheets to the client at the end of each month.
- Prepare monthly status reports summarizing bilingual service utilization, submitting reports to the client by the 5th of each month.
Standards of Performance
- All translation tasks shall be performed accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring smooth customer interactions.
- Documentation shall be maintained in CTS, with updates provided monthly.
- Compliance with client directives on reporting procedures and bilingual support coordination.
Other tasks as required by management.
Mandatory Requirements – Candidates must answer to each of these requirements when applying (these should be clear from your CV/application):
- Security Check: Must be eligible to work in Italy and able to obtain all required background checks according to USAG Italy and Army in Europe regulations for access to US Army installation.
- Education: Minimum High School Diploma.
- Experience: At least two years of documented work experience in administrative functions, customer service, and office operations.
- Language Proficiency: Must demonstrate fluency in both English and Italian (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Technical Skills: Demonstrated customer interaction and communications skills; Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Windows-based programs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates degree or greater in a relevant field.
- Experience working in a US Military environment / prior work with ACS, military personnel and their dependents.
- Located in the Vicenza area in Italy (no commuting or relocation costs will be provided).
- Experience working with client tracking software.
- Experience handling crisis communications and work under pressure.
