Description:

Base pay starting at $20.25/hr, additional compensation for higher education/experience in the field up to $23.58/hr.

3 weeks Paid Orientation Training, M-F 8-4pm
Evening and Overnight shift availability, 4 day work weeks!!

In response to the humanitarian crisis at America’s ports of entry, Devereux provides short-term shelter care services for unaccompanied children who have come to the United States without a parent or legal guardian. Devereux will provide extremely high-quality, trauma-informed residential and educational services for unaccompanied children, with intense supports for their social and emotional health. We will also ensure they receive excellent and immediate physical healthcare including pediatric, dental and nutritional supports for every child. Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health MA provides programs and services for children, and adolescents.

Devereux’s ultimate goal is to ensure every unaccompanied child who receives our services is successfully and quickly discharged into the loving care of their family sponsor and, during the short time they are with us, have received best-in-class medical, therapeutic, recreational and educational services designed specifically to address the traumas they have sustained during, and often before, their migration journey. This is a very high benchmark to set, but we have already begun partnering with leading legal defense nonprofits to ensure children in our care have access to the finest immigration advocates and supports our country offers.

An evening position with this team would be the hours of 3:00pm to 11:00pm during the week days & either Saturday or Sunday double shift 7:00am to 11:00pm (4 day work week):

As a Bilingual Youth Care Professional – 2nd Shift at Devereux, you will be a critical part of a multi-disciplinary team of dedicated experts who share your passion for helping children in need. Bilingual Youth Care Workers staff the Short-term Shelter program 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The primary responsibility for this position is to maintain a nurturing environment within the program that is conducive to healthy and therapeutic emotional healing and growth of children who have experienced trauma. This full-time position reports to the Shift Supervisor. Twenty percent of the children will need long-distance transport (36 hours average), and twenty percent of the children will need transport for legal needs (average 4 hours) and dental/specialty medical (average 4 hours).

An overnight position with this team would be the hours of 11:00pm to 9:00am (4 day work week):

Qualifications:
For consideration, you must have:
  • Must be 21+ with a valid drivers license
  • High School Diploma or GED, higher education preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
  • One year of child welfare experience working with children and/or adolescents required
  • Fully immunized/vaccinated (or have a medical/religious exemption) for Varicella, MMR, TdAp, Influenza prior to starting.
Schedule:
  • Onboarding/background check process can take up to 4+ weeks. You will do a 20 minute phone interview followed by a virtual interview with the hiring manager prior to offer
  • 3 weeks Paid orientation (Monday-Friday, 8-4pm, first 3 weeks of employment)
  • Evening shifts: Sunday 7a-11p & M-W 3-11pm OR W-F 3-11pm & Saturday 7a-11pm
  • Overnight shifts: Sun - Wed 11p - 9am OR Wed - Saturday 11p-9a
