Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Body Shop Estimator to join our automotive service team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing vehicle damage, preparing detailed repair estimates, and providing exceptional customer service throughout the repair process. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive repairs, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles to assess repair needs, including auto body repair, mechanical issues, transmissions, suspension, tire service, brake repair, and diesel engine repairs.
- Prepare accurate and detailed repair estimates using auto estimating and service writing software.
- Communicate effectively with customers to explain repair procedures, costs, and timelines while providing exceptional customer service.
- Coordinate with technicians and parts departments to ensure timely completion of repairs.
- Upsell additional services such as alignments, oil changes, shocks & struts, air brakes, and other automotive maintenance services when appropriate.
- Manage vehicle repair documentation and maintain detailed records of all estimates and customer interactions.
- Handle cash transactions and assist in vehicle sales when necessary.
- Stay updated on dealership procedures, automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, and current industry standards to provide accurate assessments.
Qualifications
- Proven dealership experience or auto service management background preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, repairs—including oil changes, tire service, brake repair, suspension work—and mechanical systems such as transmissions and diesel engines.
- Experience with auto estimating software and service writing is highly desirable.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Ability to upsell additional services effectively while maintaining integrity.
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures including alignments and shocks & struts.
- Experience in automobile sales or cash handling is a plus.

Pay: $52,083.84 - $62,724.63 per year
