Position: Bookkeeper
Location: Christchurch, Canterbury
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: $ 31.00 to $33.00 per hour

Rising Sun Limited are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage the financial records of our supermarket. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

✔ Maintain and update daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
✔ Process invoices, bank deposits, and reconcile financial statements.
✔ Prepare payroll and ensure compliance with taxation requirements such as GST and PAYE.
✔ Monitor stock purchases and supplier payments to maintain accurate financial tracking.
✔ Assist in preparing financial reports for management review.
✔ Maintain general ledger entries and ensure accuracy in supermarket financial documentation.
✔ Ensure compliance with financial policies, industry standards, and relevant regulations.

Key Requirements:

✅ Level 5 Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field OR Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
✅ Proficiency in accounting software (MYOB) or willing to learn / train.
✅ Excellent numerical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
✅ Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
✅ Strong communication skills to collaborate with suppliers, management, and external auditors.
