Are you passionate about proper boot fit and alignment? Want everyone's feet to feel as good as yours? As a Boot Fitter at Elevation, you’ll play a key role in providing guests with a personalized and comfortable ski experience while contributing to a vibrant and energetic work environment. Your expertise will allow you to assess, recommend, and custom-fit ski boots tailored to each guest’s unique physiology and skiing style. By combining technical skills with outstanding customer service, you'll help create memorable experiences for our guests while supporting a positive and rewarding workplace. If you’re passionate about skiing and love working with people, this role offers the perfect balance of craftsmanship and guest interaction.
Compensation Information:
$23.00 per hour
Physical Requirement:
Light, work activities involve handling loads between 5 kg and 10 kg. Predominantly in an indoor setting.
This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.
Accountabilities:
- Working at Elevation with duties which include but are not limited to – outfitting guests with rental equipment, selling products and effectively displaying merchandise
- Create an atmosphere for guests and co-workers that is safe, positive, rewarding and fun, while ensuring we meet or exceed company and departmental goals
- Carry out full assessments on guests looking to purchase new boots and those who require
- alterations to their existing boots, including but not limited to – analyzing a guest’s feet,
- physiology and skiing style
- Make informed selections of the appropriate boots, insoles or alterations for the customer
- based on the assessment process
- Efficiently carry out recommendations while communicating the fitting process to guests,
- ensuring they understand the sensations and requirements of a good fit
- Effective utilization of boot fitting parts and tools to adjust and modify a guest’s boots,
- insoles or liners, including but not limited to – foam, lifts, brannocks, shell spreaders,
- punches, ovens and grinders
- Organize and maintain inventory of boot fitting tools and supplies, coordinating with management on orders as required
- Assist management in training staff on boot-fitting tools, parts and techniques
Ideal Candidate:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in ski retail operations, with at least 1 year spent boot fitting
- Extensive knowledge of ski boot technology, fit, and boot fitting techniques
- Experience with inventory management and computerized Point of Sale (POS) systems
- Organized, with outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Confident and self-motivated
- Strong commitment to excellent customer service (external and internal customers)
- Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced work environment
- Able to always maintain a cheerful and outgoing attitude
- A passion for skiing/snowboarding and the outdoors
